On October 28th, Alexander Schmemann, President of Osnabrueck University of Applied Sciences(Germany), visited Hefei University(HFU). Wang Qidong, Chair of HFU Council met with the guests.

Wang Qidong warmly welcomed President Alexander Schmemann and briefly introduced HFU’s school-running. Wang said, HFU and Osnabrueck University of Applied Sciences have carried out effective cooperation in the past 39 years with two cooperative programs jointly established, all together 17 Sino-German Seminars on Applied Higher Education co-hosted, and Research on Applied Higher Education co-published; Hefei University is on its road to a high-level applied university, hoping to expand cooperation with Osnabrueck University of Applied Sciences in joint cultivation of graduate students and joint establishment of the Program of New-energy Vehicle.

Alexander Schmemann briefly introduced the school-running of Osnabrueck University of Applied Sciences. He expressed his hope to deepen and expand cooperation and exchanges with HFU, promote the joint construction and development of engineering programs, especially the Program of Mechanical Manufacturing, and send more German students to Hefei University for a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and cultivation of their “China Competence”.

Accompanied by Wang Qidong, Alexander Schmemann and his delegation visited the Key Laboratory of Advanced Battery Materials and Technology at School of Energy Materials and Chemical Engineering, and Volkswagen College’s School-enterprise Training Center and Practice Center and Industry-education Integration Platform Laboratory.
